Typical wedding planning timelines advise you to start working with a stationer or graphic designer six to eight months before your wedding. So what do you do when your engagement is only three months–or less?
Save the Dates
Start your wedding invitation order as soon as possible! If your engagement is long enough, send out save the date cards six to eight months before your wedding.
If your wedding is only a few months away, you’ll want to mail out your invitations four to six weeks in advance. To make the invitation ordering process as efficient as possible, have the following information scheduled and set in stone:
- Temple sealing appointment
- Reception venue
- Quantity for the number of invitations you’ll need
- Wedding colors
- Style or theme
While Mormon Wedding Invitations has a quick turnaround time from order to delivery, consider the time that will be needed to address the invitations, especially if you are adding calligraphy or hand-addressing the envelopes.
Order a few extra invitations and envelopes–a standard rule of thumb is to order 10 more than you think you’ll need. You’ll be glad you have them when you make a mistake while addressing. You’ll also want a few extra copies as mementos for yourself and your family members. Wedding invitations are great for family history documentation.
Wedding Day Stationery
If you need any additional pieces for the ceremony or reception, we recommend placing your order four to six weeks in advance. Wedding day stationery includes:
- Place cards
- Menu cards
- Welcome sign
- Table numbers
- Directional signage
- Food signs
Thank You Cards
The gifts you receive for your wedding are an every-day reminder of the love and support that your family and friends give to you, your spouse and your marriage. Order your custom wedding thank you cards at the same time as your wedding stationery.
